Money Saved is Money Earned

Compare, compare, compare! With regards to prices that is a given when it comes to shopping or anything that you could think of that involves money. Because we do know that with the competition revolving around the marketplace, there is always great deals out there if you take the time to look. So more often than not, it is the consumer that wins when they‘re patient, and if you are resourceful enough to look for the greatest deal available, like me.

We will be shopping for new kitchen appliances probably this weekend so, yeah, you got it right: I am in the middle of comparing prices of different brands from different stores. I’ve already seen some good affordable stuff, but I am not going to stop yet. I am still taking my chances I might find some more good stuff.

Time Does Heal, But Slowly

Come April 3rd, my husband will be observing the first anniversary of his mother’s passing. And though it has been almost a year, he still grieves greatly. But that’s the man he is, and one of the many reasons I love him.

Unfortunately, I was unable to meet his mother. We were just a couple of months into my visa process when she passed. My husband so wanted me to meet her, as did I, but it wasn’t meant to be. Still, it was meant to be that my husband and I were to be together. And if not for the Medicare plan his mother had, that may not have happened. For years, due to her disability, he had taken care of her. Thankfully, when she turned 65, she was eligible for Medicare which took a great financial burden off of his shoulders, allowing him to be able to afford making our dream come true.

Nonetheless, in a way I still feel as if I knew his mom because I live with the man she shaped. So thanks, Mama June. You did a wonderful job…(“,)

The Best Deal He Ever Got Was Me! (“,)

We were about to go to bed last night when my fiancé’ thought of checking his documents first because he forgot when his car insurance is due and he had this feeling that it would be next week, and he was right. It is due on Tuesday. He’s ready to pay it though and he will post it tomorrow. He’s been with this car insurance company for years because they’ve got the cheapest car insurance he’s ever seen. Good for my Honey! He always gets the greatest deals. That’s what he gains from being so resourceful. Way to go, Honey!

I’ll Be Rockin’ Down the Highway!

On our way home from the hotel yesterday where our friend Carol took us, I saw this wide array of beautiful cars for sale. I will get one soon, I know. After I learn how to drive, that is. Yes, shame on me but I don’t know how to drive yet. I think you can blame it on my guts. I simply don’t have any. But I will try my best to learn, really, because I want to drive my dream car, and that’s a Honda CR-V.

Though I know I still have a lot of things to go through before it finally happens, I have no worries. Checking for a car insurance company will certainly be high on my priority list, though I know my fiancé will show me the way to make it all happen.

Though Sad, it Was a Celebration of a Well-Lived Life

Saturday, October 9th, 2010

My fiancé recently lost his mother after she lost her battle with what we all will one day face: old age. She was, however, a very wise, as well as realistic, woman who knew exactly what she wanted. Therefore, she had already several years ago made her own funeral plans, leaving it up to her son to see that her wishes were carried out.

Of course, he was very heartbroke but her foresight made the experience a time of reflection and time shared between the surviving family members remembering the happy times of her life, not one of handling the complexities of arranging a funeral at a time of great sadness. And though still grieving, which he always will, after the services he found himself at peace, knowing that her struggles and pain were finally over, and also knowing that she would have been proud of how he handled her final journey.

Me and My Memory Gap

Saturday, September 4th, 2010

A call from our car insurance agent woke me up from my afternoon nap earlier. She reminded me that our insurance is going to expire soon and she just wanted to give me a heads-up so we wouldn’t forget. She always does that for which I am so thankful of because sometimes I forgot about important things because of my busy schedule as a mom, as a blogger and with our family business.

Anyway, I may have forgotten about the insurance but no big deal since I always have something saved in my wallet for the bills and for emergency situations. It’s a good thing they offer cheap auto insurance because it is not at all a pain in my pocket. They’ve been our provider for five years and will always be because their insurance is not only cost efficient but their service is excellent too.

It Pays to Plan Ahead

An addition to the family is coming soon to my friend’s house; she’s pregnant with her second baby. I am so excited for her. Her eldest is already in high school, and that’s how they planned it. They wanted to focus on their first child before having another one which is a good thing to do given the problems we face in this dog-eat-dog world. She’s even acquired term life insurance for the whole family. I’ve always admired her maturity and planning when it comes to her life. And she never goes wrong with it. She’s happy and having a successful life with her family. Way to go, girl!
