The Speakers Spoke, But They Weren’t Broke

Tuesday, August 16th, 2011

I was watching my favorite television show this morning when I heard something drop in my son’s bedroom. It was the home theater system speakers that my husband hung on the wall. They were just sitting on top of the television rack before, but the husband thought it will be good if they were placed somewhere higher, and that was on the wall.

Bad idea eh. LOL. Good thing the speakers were not broke after falling five feet to the floor. I think one thing that protected them was the carpet. Had it been that the floor was hard wood or tiles, I doubt if they would still be okay.

I put them back on the top of the rack. The husband will fix them later.

Beddy-Bye Time With Mom and Dad

Thursday, June 16th, 2011

One of the many things that I discovered here in the land of Uncle Sam that I didn’t see in my home country is the use of those digital baby monitors. Our neighbor got one and I had to ask her what it was because I was really clueless.

My son was sleeping with me from the time he was born, as did my nephews and nieces with their parents. They slept with their parents until they were old enough to sleep on their own, like around 7 years old. It might be surprising for some, but it is one common thing in my home country. I should say, it’s in our culture and though some of my countrymen have been influenced by other country’s culture, still, it is practiced by many.

He Thinks He’s Being Sneaky

After hearing my fiancés hint on the gift that he will give me this Christmas, I can’t help but exclaim, “Yes!” And that’s because I already know what he’s going to get me, none other than the number one thing on my wish list, a notebook computer. Yay!

He’s never confirmed it, though, and he’s still trying to give me all the details without actually giving it away because he wants it to be a surprise, but I am pretty certain that’s what it is. Whoa! I am so excited. I do wonder what color he will get me. Hmmm, Honey, make sure that the color is girly, okay? LOL.

He’s a Gamer, But He Want to Go Big-time

Saturday, October 9th, 2010

My son came home the other day all excited after visiting his friend. His friend got a PS3 for his birthday which lit a fire in my son’s head because he’s got to have one now, so he says. He’s used to playing these games, but this one had even more goodies than he’s used to, such as the PS3 Bluetooth Wireless Headset and Dual Shock controllers so you can hear and feel, totally experience, the excitement of the game. He said it was as if you were actually in the screen being part of the adventure, not just sitting there and playing it; such an imagination he has. And since he likes war games and cars so much, he already has a list of Playstation3 games he wants, like Call of Duty and MX vs ATV. Oh well, I’ll certainly not have a problem with his Christmas list this year, huh?

Huraaaaah! No More Waiting!

After having to deal with  PC problem for months, our dilemma has finally ended. The technician from the computer store where we got the PC finally got the time to come and repair it. We’ve had the PC for five years and it was really getting slow, most likely because of because of the many programs and files stored in it for our family business.

The technician reprogrammed the PC and it works as good as new now. It loads faster that it used to even with the new scanner software that he installed. Before, I had to wait for about ten minutes before I could start using the PC. That’s how slow it was loading the programs. But now, it is already good to go in just a matter of two minutes. Great!

A Do Nothing State-of-Mind

Sunday, June 20th, 2010

Have you been in a situation where you couldn’t think of anything else to do because you feel like you’ve done it all? That was the situation I was in yesterday. I’ve seen all the DVDs we rented; I’ve read all the books my fiancé sent me; I’ve read all the magazines I bought; and though I can watch TV if I want to, the shows are just not to my liking. But, I could go play the playstation 3 but I’m simply not in the mood for a game, or I could sing in the videoke but I don’t want to wake the neighbors. LOL.

Well, I just seem to be in a total state of I-don’t-know-what-to-do. There are even more things that I could do but choose not to do, so why bother even thinking about it?  I’ll just chose to continue being bored and wonder why I’m bored. (“,)

Good Girl, Mommy; You Listened To Me!

Friday, May 14th, 2010

Mom’s health has not been stable lately and she sees her doctor almost every week now. She always complains of dizziness, headaches and stomach upsets and her blood pressure has not been stable either. I’m glad we have a wristech blood pressure monitor to help keep a check on her blood pressure.

Just this morning, she complained of a headache again. Her blood pressure was normal when she checked it so I just told her to take a rest. Maybe she’s just over fatigued because she’s the type who can’t stay still. Much to my surprise, she followed my advice to rest because she can be stubborn at times. Shouldn’t it be that moms are the ones supposed to be giving the orders? Looks like it’s the other way around now, huh? Go figure that!
