Water Shortage?

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

It’s what the headline says a couple of days ago, I think. Gosh! Having this rotational brownout every single day is so annoying already not to mention, time consuming and all. It has been totally affecting our daily lives. And now, this!?

It’s been so hot here in our country now. March being the hottest month, the temperature ranges from 33 to 35 degrees celsius. That is just so hot! And that was the reason behind the power shortage and soon, water shortage. How unlucky we can become.

We do hope they can do something about it though. Fingers crossed!

Once Again

Friday, February 26th, 2010

It’s a non-working holiday here today! I posted previously about the long weekend that we had because of Monday being a holiday. And with today being a holiday once again, we will be having another long weekend. Yepper!

The little once has no classes too so I wasn’t in a cramming mode today. What a relief!

Holidays really makes me happy and gay! LOL.

Long Weekend

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

It’s a holiday here in our country today which makes it a three-day weekend for us. What a relief because Mondays couldn’t be a fun day at times because of tasks and chores that need to be accomplished. Yes, Tuesday and other days can be like that too but at least, one busy day was subtracted leaving only four busy days left. Hehe. Makes sense huh?

The reason behind the holiday is because our country is celebrating the anniversary of the first EDSA Revolution that happened in 1986. The exact date should be February 25th but since it falls on a Thursday, our President decided to move it to Monday so we will have a long weekend. Good idea! It’s not the first time that she has done it though.

It’s midday now and so far it has been such a relaxing day for me. Great!

Here Comes Power Interruptions Again!

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

I’ve talked about experiencing power interruptions for months before but we’ve been enjoying no interruptions after that for like three months. And now, here it comes again. We’ve had power outages for half an hour to an hour since yesterday and it’s really annoying with the weather that we have and it has been so hot lately, about 30 degrees Celsius which is really hot. The AC is on almost all day and when there’s power outages, we can’t do anything but use fans instead.

I wonder what’s the problem this time. Before, they said it’s because of power shortage. Hope the authorities will be able to fix the problem soon enough because it can really be uncomfortable having no power and definitely annoying.

Heart Breaking Scenes

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

A typhoon known as Ondoy hit Luzon and damaged Metro Manila last week. The devastation that it brought has been in the headlines since and watching it is really heart breaking. They are so pitiful especially those kids who managed to sleep on the sidewalk with no blankets that would keep them warm.

The water is waist deep in some parts of the metro but worst in other parts wherein the water almost reached the roof of a one-story house. It’s really shocking seeing those people in those situations and I feel lucky for myself for not being able to surpass the trials they are going through now. All I can do now is help them through my prayers. I know it’s a nightmare for them but I know it’ll be over soon.

Power Outage Again and Again!

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

And it can really be irritating most especially if you have things to do online like chatting with my BA perhaps. Yes, there were already times that we weren’t able to chat because of the power interruption. More often that not, the interruption occurs late in the afternoon until early evening which is, unfortunately, our scheduled time to chat. Call that ironic!

As i’ve heard on the news, power shortage is the reason behind the interruptions and I think we’ll be experiencing it for the next couple of months still. Oh well! We can’t do anything about it but be patient. It’s beyond our control anymore, anyway.
