I’m Still My Son’s Nurse

Saturday, November 19th, 2011

We went shopping for Thanksgiving today and I saw this bunch of ladies in their medical uniforms that were really nice and colorful. I told myself, if I had pursued my nursing career, I would have been wearing the same.

But oh well, no regrets. I know that career path was not for me. I knew it from the start, but I was at the crossroads at that time when I initially chose it, and not thinking if it was really what I wanted to do in life. I am happy with my chosen path now, still in the healthcare industry, but the job is less stressful not to mention that I am happy with it.

The Future is Their’s For the Grabbing

Nursing is one of the most sought after careers . This I know because back home, it is what I always hear from the young ones including my nephews and nieces. They find it interesting and have been thinking of earning a nursing degree.

It is not late for me to take a bsn online degree, but with the schedule that I have now, it is impossible. My nephews and nieces have the time, but they are still in high-school. I am hoping they won’t change their minds when they graduate. I will definitely support them every step of the way if they decided to seek a bsn online degree. I do believe that is a smart choice.

You’re Never Too Old To Learn

I am a degree holder – a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Commerce, and a major in management, to be precise. I was able to find myself a decent job right after graduation but, sad to say, the economy went south so I wasn’t employed long. I only enjoyed three years at that telecommunications company and after that, I had to deal with the search-for-job game again. In the meantime, I just helped my parents with their business while waiting for a good opportunity to knock on my door. That is until training about being a medical transcriptionist was shared with me by a friend.

It’s known that jobs in health care are the most sought after nowadays so I didn’t have second thoughts about it and enrolled myself right away. Being a MT has its pros and cons too. We’ve enjoyed the rewards but many companies are having a hard time dealing with their clients from the U.S. and some of them had to give up and that includes the company I was with.

At present, I am still waiting for another opportunity and I have this feeling that it won’t be long until it will come knocking at my door again. Best of luck to me!
